Sharing your home should be a gratifying experience. The Freebird Club was hatched out of the founder\u2019s father enjoying hosting guests<\/ins><\/a> from around the world and everyone who hosts through us should expect the same.<\/p>\n

Community is a large part of who we are and what we offer and we\u2019re pleased to have created a caring, safe environment for solo over 50\u2019s to use to explore the world.<\/p>\n

We encourage a safety first approach to hosting a fellow traveller in your home and provide all the guidance and information to ensure you have a fulfilling and pleasant experience.<\/p>\n

We have a suite of tools available to you to alleviate potential stress and take the worry out of hosting.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Safety Tools<\/p>\n

We check every membership application – so you can be assured that anyone you speak to is a real person.<\/p>\n

By using the Freebird Platform to communicate with prospective guests you can get to know someone without giving personal details until you\u2019re happy that you are a match..<\/p>\n

During the booking process you are able (and encouraged) to have a Zoom or Facetime call to connect with your future travel-friend, ensuring you\u2019re 100% comfortable to host them.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Tools Information on hosting<\/p>\n

We regularly update the site with articles to inform your hosting. These include topics such as hosting checklist<\/ins><\/a>, through to more specific pieces around how to become your town\u2019s tour guide.<\/ins><\/a> <\/p>\n

We also want to help provide inspiration so hosting always feels vibrant and exciting. If you have a specific subject you\u2019d like us to cover, please let us know.<\/p>\n

A vibrant community<\/p>\n

There is an active community on Facebook.<\/ins><\/a> This is a closed group, only accessible to Freebird Club members. It provides a space both for inspiration and the opportunity to connect with the Freebird Club, and other hosts – to discuss ideas on improving the hosting process for you and your guests – as well as hearing guests’ experiences and suggestions.<\/p>\n

Other’s experiences<\/p>\n

It can be reassuring to read others’ experiences of hosting through the Freebird club, and there are case studies and stories<\/ins><\/a> in the Facebook group, and on the site, demonstrating the positive involvement our members have.<\/p>\n

Once a member, you\u2019re free to reach out to other members in the Facebook group, or if you\u2019d like, we can put you in touch with an existing host who is happy to share their experiences of using us.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re proud of what we\u2019re creating and hope you\u2019ll enjoy being part of a growing community of like-minded travellers.<\/p>\n

We know how frustrating it can be if you can\u2019t get hold of something. We have a couple of ways of speaking to us if there are any questions or concerns. In the first instance you can speak to us via our open Facebook<\/ins><\/a> page or from within the group. This will send a message on Facebook messenger. You can do this on the page itself.<\/p>\n
